IF: baby

My parents adopted a toy poodle a couple years back and they just love him like a new born baby. Introducing "Max".....A fairly new addition to the family. I guess that makes him my....brother? Cool.

My mom has been dropping hints forever....for me to sketch lil' Max. I thought I'd surprise her with this huge painted bowl for Mother's Day. Shots out to the United Postal Service in delivering this in one piece (wiping the sweat from forehead).

Wow Gerald, this makes a mighty fine gift! It's a beautiful drawing and little pooch. I used to have a prejudice against poodles until I actually met one-some of the best dogs around.

Aww...looks like a sweety. Great bowl! Now is this the dog's dish, or theirs? ;)

Awesome gift!!! and I have to say, im pretty surprised it survived the shipping - I've already had a bad experience with that.

Is it glaze one clay?

Thanks everyone, for the kind comments!

Amelia - I should have specified it was a huge dinner bowl for the dining room. hahahaha. The photo really makes it look like a small drinking bowl :P

Paul - Shipping is always scary if not packaged well. Check out the layers of bubble wrap...I did buy insurance (just in case).

Glaze on ceramic? Yup, it took about 4-5 days for the paint to dry , add glaze and fire it up in the kiln.

I hope everyone tries painting ceramics one day.

I love the picture of Max. You should draw a picture of my Chopper next. He's a Blue Italian Mastiff and a very good friend of Max.
