Riley Street - 20 minute poses

(4" x 6" prisma pencils on canson paper)

The nice thing about having a life drawing class at an art store.... you can purchase supplies on the spot! I was inspired by artist Cameron Chun and tried my hand at some dark gray canson paper with black prisma colored pencils and white for highlights. We had a great model that evening with cut muscle definition!

i like the white color pencil on the paper.
it's very nice. and it's very small just like your other works!

i could never do a life drawing that small -____-
it would take some real magic...

Wow...the muscles pop with the highlights you added. I tried sketching at a local library with a live model. That poor man ..what he looked like when I got through with him.! You did a wonderful job.

Tammy - Thank you, painting at a small scale would be really challenging, but 4"x6" is still quite small for pencils. I'm digging your latest work!

Hilda - Hi, live models are really tough sometimes... I still struggle drawing live. Thanks! You want to talk about portraits... your blog is filled with great portrait paintings!
